"Westside Family Health Center recognizes the family...They even remember my kids’ names and ask about them during each of my visits.''

VYBE

VYBE Clinic for Youth: Twice weekly WFHC offers a health clinic called VYBE (Visions for Youth Becoming Empowered) specifically for youth, ages 12 to 24. The clinic is a comfortable environment where youth can discuss confidential matters. Peer Educators conduct intake interviews and risk assessments, perform pregnancy tests, make appropriate referrals, counsel on methods and strategies for preventing pregnancy and STDs, make condoms available and instruct youth on using them effectively. Additionally, the Peer Educators are Certified HIV Counselors. A nurse practitioner, who is sensitive to the needs and concerns of youth, provides direct medical services including gynecological exams, STD testing, and birth control to clients.
